Baby-makin'

slight misconception… So Ben and I decided to be honest with our children about various issues, along with all the other things we’re honest about. Today in the car, somehow, making babies came up so I was very matter-of-fact about the details… You need a mom and a dad. The mom has an egg and the dad has the sperm. You can’t make a baby without the sperm fertilizing the egg… Aiden asked if the sperm hurts the baby. I told him that it does not hurt the baby and it’s not a baby yet, it’s just an egg. Well, tonight I was caught off guard when Aiden said,”Mom, I’m mad at you ‘cause you hurt me.” “What did I do?” I ask. “That sperm hurt me!” “Excuse me?” I’m lost… “When you put that sperm on me that hurt me and I don’t like it when you do that!” In my laughter I respond with,” Sorry, I won’t do that again.” and he gets his feelings hurt like he often does when we laugh… I never knew it was painful… Posted by Picasa

Seriously Jen... you should have known that was coming... Now his fake teacher is going to get mad at him and put sperm on him and we all know what an uncomfortable situation that makes... Have you ever seen Singles? In the begining, mom takes her son to the Dr so he can tell boy about how babies are made. It cuts to the school yard and boy is telling his friends "You know what comes out of it?. . . SPAM!" "EEEWWWWWEEEEEE!" Oh, it's great...

I love aiden. and I love making babies...I'm not sure I should say those two things together...so...umm, how about that cool new railroad game that you got. Sounds pretty neat.

that is the funniest thing ive ever heard! maybe if you could just stop putting sperm on your children they wouldnt be so wierd. but then i guess they wouldnt be as funny either...its a toss up. jen, remember how we both have lives that are revolving around rolly pollies? wierd.

Sometimes I tell everyone that I have a nephew that thinks it hurts when his mom puts sperm on him.

i'm honest like that with my offspring, too. it came back to me when my daughter (age four) put her hands on her tummy and said "i think i can feel the eggs hatching!"
